FC Dallas will be on the road tonight to take on the Seattle Sounders at Lumen Field.
This is the Sounders’ second season meeting. FC Dallas won a victory earlier this spring at home, thanks to two goals in the second half from Paul Arriola and Jesus Ferreira.
FC Dallas comes into this match on a 2-game win streak. Seattle, however, has been struggling in recent weeks. Five of their seven previous matches ended in defeat.
FC Dallas notes:
Jose Martinez is a key player for FC Dallas. We have gone several games without calling out defenders, and we will continue to do so here since FCD is on the road. Although Martinez has had some difficult moments recently, FCD may still get points tonight if Hedges and Martinez can keep Maarten Paes under control.
These 1-0 shutouts were rare. Both FC Dallas’ wins in the two-match series were won by 1-0 scorelines. Dallas only managed two 1-0 victories in its 133 MLS matches, including playoffs, dating back to July 2018.
After only one win in 10 MLS matches (D4L5), FC Dallas is now looking for its first three-peat in 2 years. Since October-November 2020, Dallas has not won three consecutive league games.
Paxton Pomykal’s rise – This season, the midfield was crucial. Paxton Pomykal is currently leading the midfield with 687 precise passes, 336 forward passes, and 42 long ball distribution. This all while maintaining an accuracy rate of 83.
